Neal Ro is a New York City based multi-instrumentalist, musical director, composer, and producer. He is currently touring and working for artists like Troy Ramey (The Voice Season 12), Chris Borelli, Coffee Biscuits, Nnena (Sony Music Artist/Tidal Music Headliner), Nio Levon, Melaner (Riena de la Cancion), Rachel Rose (NPR Tiny Desk Top Shelf) and Shubh Saran.
As a musical director, Neal leads luxury entertainment and corporate function bands at Element Music, Hudson Horns and Elan Artists.
He has also played with artists such as Alejandro Sanz, ALISSIA (Umbria Jazz Festival), Bearstronaut (Jimmy Kimmel/Rock Band Rivals Video Game), Castle Rat (Best 15 Metal Albums of 2025 Rolling Stone), Granite to Glass (NPR Tiny Desk Top Shelf), and Jesse y Joy and the list keeps growing!
As a solo artist, Neal has released several works under his full name, Neal Rosenthal, showcasing his musicality on guitars, pedal steel and trumpet. His debut album, The Red Note Project, was released on February 8th, 2019 accompanied with a sold out performance of the album at the Triad Theatre in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He toured around the North East with this project until the 2020 Pandemic. He then released his sophomore work, Blush, in 2022 showcasing a more sophisticated and intimate approach to instrumental songwriting. In 2025, he released a cover of “Love” by Nancy Adams.
In 2026, Neal took his first steps into his aggressive and refined character arc by unveiling Neal Ro as an instrumental progressive metal artist. Inspired by the strength of an indomitable human spirit, this project draws influences from the likes of Metallica, Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, and Intervals. Powerful riffage mixed with breakdowns, soaring melodic passages and blazing guitar-work will serve as the platform Neal Ro stands on for every encounter.
